"Cuban Cooking Lesson" Tour

We propose an introducing new tour program in which travelers will not only witness masterly presentations of drink mixes, but also the elaboration and tasting of a cocktail and several classic dishes of Cuban cuisine. The interaction between bartender, chef, and client in the preparation of their favorite cocktail and dishes allows living a unique experience to those who come eager to taste the so-called cocktails like the Mojito and the typical dishes of Ropa Vieja and Congris Rice.

Description:

COCKTAIL

Elaboration of the "Cuban Mojito". Presentation of the drink and its origin by our bartender. Our bartender will prepare the cocktail with the participation of the attendees, explaining the grammages and measurements of each ingredient. The assistants will follow the process and elaborate their own cocktail (Duration 15 minutes)

ENTRANTE

Preparation of the dish named “Tostones Rellenos“. Presentation of the dish by our chef.

The assistants must collaborate in the dish elaboration:

  • Peeling and chopping bananas,
  • Shaping the tostón,
  • Stuffing with ham,
  • Cutting the cheese,

Our cook will go frying the bananas and indicating to the assistants the procedure until the final elaboration of the dish, explaining also the dish origin. (Duration of 15 minutes)

MAIN DISH

Elaboration of the “Ropa vieja. Presentation of the dish by our chef.

The assistants must collaborate in the dish preparation,

  • Cutting onion and pepper to the Juliana,
  • Peeling garlic,
  • Unraveling already cooked beef,
  • Follow the preparation process together with our chef.

Our cook will make the sauce counting the origin of the dish and giving participation to the attendees adding the ingredients that they have been preparing in the indicated order.

Elaboration of "Arroz congrí", as an accompaniment to the previous dish. Presentation of the dish by our chef.

The assistants must collaborate in the preparation of the dish,

  • Cut pepper, onion, and garlic in jardinera,
  • Thinking about the time of dish preparation, the red beans will be cooked,
  • The assistants will follow the process together with our chef. (Duration 1 hour)

To accompany the mojito the house offers a courtesy.

Clients will have lunch or dinner with the dishes that have been prepared.

The house will add a vegetable salad to the Ropa vieja and the rice congrí.

At the end of lunch, the house offers a homemade dessert, 1 national drink, and coffee

Policies and Conditions

• This tour operates with a minimum of 2 passengers. Holiplus will reconfirm 48 hours before the departure of your tour. If the provider decides to cancel, for not meeting the minimum required amount of passengers, Holiplus will offer an alternative tour or fully refund cost of your trip.

• Approximate life of travels is between 1 and 1.30 hours approximately.

• The presentation including lunch or dinner is approximately 2:30 minutes.

• This tour program covers several locations, depending on space availability and number of customers.

• The program is developed in different locations such as partner restaurants and bars.

• The participating cooks have been members of the Cuban Culinary’s Association for over ten years.

• The participating bartenders have been members of the Cuban Bartenders’ Association for over ten years.

• The cocktails are prepared using three-year aged Havana Club Rum.

• Other cocktails and dishes of interest to the client can be included.

• Drinks consumed outside the menu will be paid separately.

Cancellation Policy

• In case of cancellation up to 72 hours before the departure time of the excursion, a penalty of 10% of the excursion fare will be charged. • Regarding cancellations made between 72 and 24 hours before the departure time of the excursion, a penalty of 50% of the excursion fare will be applied. • Cancellations reported within 24 hours before the departure time and No-Show (no presentation at departure time), a penalty of 100% of the excursion fare will be applied. • Booking fees and credit card surcharges cannot be refunded in case of cancellation.
